The short-haul choice is becoming more attractive even as many owner-ops report taking an income hit.

ELD-related survey shows length-of-haul desirability trending shorter for small fleets, longer for large
Teams’ “golden ticket” in today’s trucking environment suggested in part by Columbus, Ohio-headquartered Zipline Logistics’ survey of its carrier network, comprised of both small and comparatively large fleets, about the turn to electronic logging devices. Survey results, based on responses from more than 100 carriers, show something of a shift in thinking depending on the size of the carrier when it comes to the desirability of longer or shorter hauls.
