Prime boosts pay

Prime Inc. increased pay for its OTR company drivers, independent contractors and associates. OTR company drivers (paid on the per-mile basis) started receiving a one cent per mile increase for any loads dispatched after August 3, 2013. Prime honors fallen soldiers

Prime Inc. drivers will deliver wreaths to military veterans’ graves in Missouri and Pennsylvania as part of the Wreaths Across America Day, the Springfield, Mo.-based carrier said. The nationwide annual event relies on many in the trucking industry. The noon flag ceremony, tap and 21-gun salute on Dec. 10 commemorates fallen soldiers for their military service. Prime hosts driver picnic

Prime Inc., held company picnics for drivers and their families Sept. 3 in Springfield, Mo., Pittston, Pa., and Salt Lake City. The picnics included inflatable games and water slides, face painting and various casino-style games. The Missouri picnic had the biggest turnout with 1,400 attendees. Prime’s Springfield picnic also included a truck driving championship competition, a Pride & Polish truck contest and a raffle.

Prime Inc. donates to Joplin tornado relief

Prime Inc., has sent two 53-foot refrigerated trailers filled with food, water, clothing and supplies to victims of the devastating tornado that tore through Joplin, Mo., a Prime spokesman said. In addition, Prime associates and President Robert Low have contributed more than $10,000 to the local Red Cross for food and supplies. The company is also providing water to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, the only working hospital in the area.
