Mack Trucks, Inc., donated a new Mack Pinnacle axle-back tractor to safety outreach program Share the Road. The SmartWay-certified tractor is equipped with a Mac mDrive automated manual transmission and a 13-liter 505-hp Mack MP8 engine featuring the truck maker’s ClearTech selected catalytic reduction technology and 1760 lb. ft. torque. DOT plans to ban trucker texting Truck and interstate bus drivers would be prohibited from using text messaging while driving under a rulemaking planned by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
