Operator Hanlon certainly wouldn’t be the first driver to run with a pet pit. Gilbert (pictured) was an entry in our Most Loved Pets competition, recently rounded up. He’s the pet of owner-operator Lee Williams, who says he was adopted “from Villalobos Rescue Center” in New Orleans after having been there seven years following rescue from a California fighting ring. “We had applied to other places for a pet, but because we are truck drivers they wouldn’t adopt to us. Thank god Villalobos thought outside of the box.” Gilbert “loves riding…. His forever home is with us.”
