Mike “Mustang” Crawford, an owner-operator who lives in Long Lane, Mo., won first place in OverdriveRetro’s Best Dog Story contest for his entry, “A girl named Fred.”


The contest was held for truckers to submit memories of their favorite in-cab companions and compete for prizes. Read the winning entries.
