Texas trucker narrowly escapes the ultimate disaster

November 23, 2009

 | by: Todd Dills

I may have spoken too soon, Friday, when I made reference to one Brazilian truck accident as one of the most bizarre of truck crash results ever photographed. A Nov. 12 story in Wyoming’s Powell Tribune newspaper included a picture equally terrifyingwe-inspiring. The piece told the story of Texas-based hauler Otis Hall, whose wrong turn led him on a harrowing journey up and over the Big Horn mountains on US-14A; his brakes failed on the way down, the Tribune reported, resulting in a rollover, his cab ending its tumbling upside down and hanging onto a barrier next to a steep dropoff, at the bottom of which Hall’s flatbed trailer and load of soda ash ended its own tumble.

Hall lived to tell about it, thank the stars, without serious injury, the Tribune reported.
