Are you THAT ignorant? Or just retarded? It’s idiot drivers like you that I have to deal with everyday! Discourteous, paranoid and schizophrenic. The whole world is out to get you and at the same time, you think you’re the only one on the road. Try being courteous or compassionate to those perhaps less fortunate than you. Be generous. You’ll be happier. Trust me.

I agree the Mexican truckers are an issue. There needs to be a requirement that they pass an American CDL test,a full Safety Inspection, and show verifiable proof of sufficient insurance before they drive away from the Border crossing.
As it is,many cops are reluctant to cite or arrest foreign truck drivers because they are “Federally Invited” into the US and no cop wants to be pounded on by the Feds for messing up a Federal Program.

ELHTTX-You must have had a rotten day or something. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. We don’t need folks out driving trucks with that kind of rage. Dude-take some of your own medicine. Mellow….mellow….

The first sign of illegal is most run from the accident scene. My insurance has had to repair two tractors for me that were hit by illegal aliens who had no liability insurance. One drove through an intersection with his light red and broadsided me. They all climbed out from the totaled vehicle and ran from scene. The car company that had financed this driver even had the balls to send me a letter demanding compensation for the destroyed vehicle which I promptly told them what they could do with that. repairs to my tractor cost my insurance seven thousand dollars in damages not counting another five thousand for my medical expenses. The other one plowed into my parked tractor with his tractor at a local truck stop while I was inside eating. He managed to just drive away after ripping his hood partially off. Needless to say the law caught him by following the parts trail down the highway. They soon found him trying to put water in a busted radiator that he had punctured at the scene. Of course Mr illegal had no recollection of any mishap that had occurred just up the road while sitting there with black paint from my truck and half a hood held down with a bungee cord. Nor did he have insurance of any type on a class eight vehicle which he later abandoned before he too skipped court. That one cost my insurance company nine thousand dollars in damages to my truck. Thankfully I do pay for no-fault but my premiums have now gone up because of these idiots our legislators want to give amnesty to carry on with their crime spree. Both times I had no way to pull my trailer so for over a month I was without employment. There seems to be no stomach to put a stop to this by government because it’s not politically correct. In the meantime law enforcement will devote no time to pursue these criminals without federal support. Yes they’re criminals, who are illegally here and continue to break the law to avoid prosecution or deportation. I’m always amazed at how many folk here feel we owe them something? These same folk feel that illegals harm no one by breaking our laws, taking American jobs for pennies on the dollar, or falsifying others identification to carry on these activities!

ELHTTX: If you would state a rational argument (instead of simply calling people names!), maybe others would listen to you.

This is something that needs to be said far more often. And, let’s add the statistic for which driver is responsible in truck-car crashes. The car driver is responsible in well over 80%. A great presentatation, though, at the risk of being called an “old fart,” I’d add that the grammar needs a makeover. For example, since the piece compares only two parties, the title should be “Which is the bigger safety threat?” Still, an excellent piece overall.

Texting while driving, finishing putting on make-up, eating a meal, reading a book, map or any other printed material is most likely a contributing factor in both types if crashes. However the number one reason for rear end crashes is a split speed limit. In California cars can go 75 but trucks are limited at 55. In AR, IN, OH, ID, WA OR, same thing. Cars can go as much as 10mph faster. Not only is it dangerous it creates a hostile situation on the road. All of a sudden the trucks are in the way of the cars. The cars will then take reckless chance of passing on double yellow lines, on hills and in curves. Or cars while just come around a truck just to cut them off to get off the interstate. Sometimes within inches of the front of the truck. We have found that the most agressive driver is the one with their young children in the car or the ones with the fish symbol on the car. It is a shame that they dont realize they can DIE just as easily as the next one. If they want to reduce crashed put all vehicle at the same speed!!!!!

I’ve logged into my wife;s Google account, but she agrees with me. Illegal immigrants are a huge problem on the roads. They can buy their beer, but they won’t buy car insurance. They are discourteous, disrespectful and blatantly unlawful. The government won’t touch them, and Mexico doesn’t want them back. I don’t hate Mexicans. I once lived there, and the people were wonderful (That was in Nuevo Laredo), but the trash that comes over here are the refuse of Mexico. I have neighbors that have been here in Texas for over thirty years and still can’t speak English. I learned my Spanish in one year! There is no excuse for their behavior. They make decent Mexicans appear as bad as they are.

244,000,000 cars in the US. 5,000,000 trucks in the US. I think these statistics are skewed.

It is like the statistic that most accidents happen with-in 25 miles of home. That is true because most people do not travel beyond 25 miles from their home every day…….

Trucking is one of the top 10 most dangerous jobs and one of the lowest paying on a per hour basis.

YES..and average Life Expectancy of a truck driver is only 61 years old…probably from dealing with the stress of being ripped off by everyone they come in contact with in this lying, cheating, thieving industry…..LOL

In the first incident, the finance company wrote paper for the illegal and then failed to make sure they kept insurance for their and others protection. In my eyes, they share blame too, sue them and hopefully they will quit helping illegals get cars.

why dont u give this info to anne “the have no clue” ferro so she can evaluate

  • http://www.facebook.com/IowaButch Paul J. Laperriere

Well then, in viewing these stats and this data, Ann Ferro would be better off spending her time, on Government payroll, if she focused on cars and not Commercial vehicles!

  • Bob_Hearns

Thank you for this information. If main stream media would get on board and inform the general public we might see a shift in focus from truck drivers being the problem to car drivers being the major problem. Spend some money educating car drivers and we would all be happier with the results.
