‘Workin’ Class’ — a new trucking tune from Leland Martin

It’s named after owner-operator Colin Stuart’s “big ol’ Peterbilt all decked out and tricked out with beautiful murals of horses on the sides of the trailer,” country crooner Leland Martin told my colleagues over at Custom Rigs magazine — “Workin’ Class” is the latest in Martin’s catalog, written after meeting owner-operator Stuart and posing for a photograph with Stuart’s eponymous rig at the Walcott Truckers Jamboree this past July.

The experience had such an effect on Martin, he got home and immediately began writing. “Meeting Colin and seeing his truck inspired me so much that I knew right away I had to write a song for the drivers out there,” Martin told Custom Rigs. “So many folks apparently think truckers have no class or feelings. How wrong they are.” Martin’s working on an album currently — “Workin’ Class” will be its title track.
