A Drivers experience allows that Driver to operate safely, NOT the commodity that is being transported.
The fact that they are passing out exemptions to any Driver, especially a Driver hauling hazmat, is proof positive that safety is not #1! Of course WE already KNOW that!
There are many, many experienced Drivers who are very capable of operating beyond the HOS. I’m not saying that these exempted Drivers, or the fact that they have been exempted is necessarily an unsafe practice, I’m saying that the current HOS are one shoe fits all.
Why are 20yr Drivers being treated as though they started Yesterday? The least experienced are the least paid and they stay in this industry the least amount of time YET they dictate the laws that govern us and the rate we are paid!
I sometimes feel that I will always be in FIRST GRADE without a chance of advancement!

They want to Mold the trucker into the New Peasant Class they are developing for us….we are equal to peasant mexicans now and need to accept our new role. Inconsequential, unimportant, dopes who NEED to be Monitored and Babysat by COPS….for our Own Good! We have the maturity of 3 year olds and they are doing us a Favor..inspecting us and making sure we are Not endangering the public. We need to be content to mingle at crackerbox truckstops with Braindead dopes that Mega Fleets will Pop Out of “school” every week and with spanny speaky mexican Peasants..pretending to be here legally. Slowly but surely they ERODE our Self Image and Self Esteem to accept our Fate as DimWitted Slaveboy Chumps to be ordered around by our MASTERS. We are modern day SLAVES….they will CONTINUE this treatment as much as possible because it is Profitable..and it gives these unemployable CSA Cops a High Paying Job and a chance for all who are inclined to Rip Off and leach from the Truckers…and sell the Industry MORE Monitoring Devices to further Enslave the ignorant slaveboy trucker. This is only the Beginning of Total Dominance of the trucker/slave.

G, I know where you are coming from, I understand your train of thought.
This job is a job that does Not require a college degree. This job provides opportunity for undereducated individuals to lift themselves up. A truck Driver is classified as unskilled labor for a reason, like it or not.
IF this JOB payed a living wage there would be no need for the Drivers to break the laws in order to make a buck!
We need to understand and act on the NUMBER ONE issue we face, Drivers Wages!
Drivers wages have divided the Drivers and created discontent among us.
For example, experience accounts for nothing as the low paid driver gets the miles. With one year under their belt they then find a higher paying local job.
The influx of beginners is self perpetuating and this creates the never ending problems that we face today.
I believe in a hourly wage for all Co OTR Drivers THAT pays them for all time spent AT WORK and
that is tied to the minimum wage.
For several years, I have worked on a specific idea that seems to make good sense to those who hear me outline it.
Instead of griping and complaining we need to act on the one thing WE Should All be able to agree on. A Driver that is being adequately paid to do their job would have no reason to be unsafe or to break the law.
REGULATE the Hell out of me, what do I care as long as I’m being paid FAIRLY!
$7.25hr = $174.00 a day = $1218.00 a week. Shouldn’t the new Drivers be paid AT Least This!
Not only propane but food, road salt and livestock. When will the madness end??
Are we trying to see if FMCSA or Obamacare can pass the most waivers?
