Independent owner-operator Martin Herman pulls tank doubles dedicated to the Dustbusters company — the freight is liquid to control road dust, and in the winter de-icers for paved roads. He’s doing that full-time in recent years with this remarkable classic of a machine, a narrow-nose 1970 Kenworth W925 he spent the last decade and more re-conditioning and customizing to meet his exacting standards.

Perhaps most notable — the prior engine was a Cummins Big Cam he’d modified with components from a later-vintage Cummins N14, re-engineered to fit. After an unrecoverable breakdown this year, the new motor remains a different, earlier-version Big Cam he’s in the process of treating in much the same way.

Catch the rig’s story in the video at the top, and hear more about it and Herman’s operation in the August 2020 Overdrive Radio podcast talk with Herman.
