CRST begins bonuses, fuel reimbursements

Owner-operators who attend CRST Malone orientation in their trucks can be reimbursed up to $400 in fuel, the Birmingham, Ala.-based flatbed carrier announced. The fleet is paying a so-called sign-on bonus for flatbed owner operators who lease to the carrier, according to a written statement from the company. Boyd Bros. Transportation ordered 325 International ProStar+ tractors, heavy-duty truck maker Navistar, Inc. announced May 20. The tractors run on MaxxForce 13 engines equipped with advanced exhaust gas recirculation technology that meets 2010 emission requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Builders Transportation Co. distributed nearly $84,000 to 16 drivers following the first quarter of this year, the flatbed carrier announced. Drivers who run 30,000 miles or produce $40,000 in freight revenue qualify for quarterly bonuses at the family-owned company based in Memphis, Tenn.
