Loves truck stop in Choctaw OK tornado

The still above shows the aftermath of the tornado in 2010 that decimated the Choctaw, Okla., location of Love’s Travel Stops. Within the last couple weeks, however, the stop has reopened after an extensive rebuild and expansion, the company reports. At I-40’s Exit 166, the new site offers an 11,000-square-foot facility, significantly larger than the previous location.

Amenities include an expanded fountain drink selection, fresh fruit, travel items, gift merchandise and two fast-food restaurants. An on-site Love’s Truck Tire Care center is available as well as 90 truck parking spaces, seven showers, bulk DEF, CAT scales and RFID cardless fueling technology, among other amenities to serve professional drivers. Love’s Fast-Fill CNG will be available later this summer.

The company video below highlights the long process to the reopening.
