Man pleads guilty after scamming $1 million from truckers, brokers in double brokering scheme
A Maryland man admitted that he obtained Comcheks or similar services from brokers by posing as legitimate trucking companies and agreeing to transport freight. They then re-brokered the same loads to actual trucking companies and received payment from brokers for services they didnât provide.

YRC dismisses claims that it bilked U.S. government as âtotally without meritâ
An attorney for YRC Worldwide said the allegations âare totally without merit.â The DOJ allegations claim YRC reweighed shipments and suppressed the results when they indicated a shipment was lighter than its original estimated weight, then billed DOD âbased on weights they knew to be inflatedâ rather than charging based on the correct weight.

Two one-truck companies charged with falsifying DVIRs
According to the indictment, the owners of the companies directed their employees, under threat of termination, to falsify Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and not report safety defects or deficiencies that would affect the safe operation of vehicles or in a breakdown.
