Goodyear’s Highway Hero nominations open

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has opened nominations for its North America Highway Hero Program.

Last year’s Highway Hero was Junichi Shimizu, a driver for Chipman Relocations, who helped save the lives of three people involved in a fiery traffic accident.

Nominations must be received by Nov. 30 for incidents that happened between Nov. 16, 2009, and Nov. 15.

All nominees must be a full-time truck driver and live in the U.S. or Canada. The incident must have occurred on the job or on the way to or from work. The nominee must have been in his/her rig at the time of the incident. Nominee’s truck at the time of the incident must have 14 wheels or more.
