Drayage fair to detail government incentive programs

The Drayage Truck Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at the Port Authority’s Executive Building parking lot in Houston, and information about The Houston-Galveston Area Council Drayage Loan program will be offered to owner-operation.

The H-GAC Drayage Loan Program serves drayage trucks that deliver shipping containers to ports. Through a grant supplied by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and awarded through the Environmental Protection Agency’s SmratWay program, low-interest loan programs for eligible owner-operators allow incentives for purchasing retrofits or more environmentally-friendly trucks.

The fair, sponsored by the Houston-Galveston Area Council, the Environmental Defense Fund and the Port of Houston Authority, will also offer information about incentives for the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan.
