Repairs could take six months on the I-64 Sherman Minton Bridge over the Ohio River between Indiana and Kentucky near Louisville that was closed Sept. 9 after discovery of cracks in the steel structure.
Governors for Indiana, which is responsible for the bridge’s maintenance, and Kentucky said the construction work is out to bid.
Traffic is being detoured over I-265 and I-65, which is the preferred route for truck traffic.
