Mayfield carries on the racing tradition of Owensboro, Ky., his hometown as well as the hometown of Darrell and Michael Waltrip. The driver of the Mobil 1 Ford has been in Winston Cup full-time since 1995 and has registered three victories, one in 1998 and two in 2000.

Unlike many stock car pilots who enjoy country music, Mayfield is a fan of Kid Rock, Metallica and Limp Bizkit. As for hobbies, Mayfield says he likes to “get away, whatever that means.”
