ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants’ Delo Truck is a classroom on wheels with one objective: teaching the public about the importance and proper use of heavy-duty engine oils, lubricants and coolants.
The exhibit’s trailer houses nine education stations and a conference room. It includes a tutorial on lubrication manufacturing, a cutaway of an EGR engine and a transmission station that provides insight into critical points of lubrication while allowing visitors to test their gear shifting abilities. Other interactive displays show the impact of soot on diesel engines and how new engine specifications require changes in lubricant technology.
This year – it’s fifth in service – the Delo Truck has rolled out new graphics and a new tractor, a 2004 Kenworth W900L tractor with a 525 horsepower Cummins ISX EGR engine.
The Delo Truck travels the lower 48, Mexico and Canada making thousands of stops. More information on the Delo Truck can be found at www.delotruck.com.
