Driver Earns Truck

Central Hauling driver Cesar Castilleja of Laredo, Texas, recently won the company’s bi-yearly referral contest by surpassing all other drivers in recruiting new drivers during a six-month period.

Castilleja, who has been with Central Hauling since 2005, was presented a truck by Tom Bartholomew, owner of Central Hauling Company and its sister company CalArk.

Schneider Recognized for Military Friendliness
For the third straight year Schneider National was recognized on the G.I. Jobs list of Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers, coming in at No. 13. The company was recognized for its strong military recruiting practices, programs and policies. The company has ranked in the Top 20 each of those years. Schneider’s programs for veterans include an apprenticeship program, the “Vetrepreneur” program and the Army Reserve Employer Partnership.

C.H. Robinson Receives Awards
C.H. Robinson has received the Seven Seals award and three Patriot awards from the State of Minnesota for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The Seven Seals award is given in recognition of a significant individual or organization for taking a leadership role that promotes the mission of ESGR. The Patriot award recognizes supportive employers and is given out on behalf of the United States Department of Defense.

Transport America Names Top September Drivers
Minnesota-based truckload carrier Transport America’s September 2008 Drivers of the Month were recognized for outstanding service to the company and its customers. Professional company drivers selected for September were John Miller, Andrew Huntamer, Lou Evans and Gary Snow. Professional contractors selected for September were Warren Hodges and Ken Wills.

Warren Transport Drivers Named Finalists in TCA Contest
Bradley L. Conn and Steven J. Recker, both owner-operators with equipment leased to Warren Transport, have been named finalists in the Truckload Carriers Association’s national 2008 Owner-Operator of the Year contest. The contest is designed to provide recognition to the best owner-operators in the nation as determined by their exemplary safety record, their ability to run a successful business and their meaningful contributions to their industry and their communities. Conn and Recker each have operated several million miles as professional commercial motor vehicle operators and have done so free of accidents and with no moving violations. The final announcement will be made in March in Orlando, Fla., at the TCA’s annual conference. Conn also has been named by the Iowa Motor Truck Association as one of only twelve individuals to earn a 2008 Outstanding Professional Driver award.

Decker Recognizes
October Drivers

Decker Truck Line is pleased to announce that Scott Killey has been selected as the October 2008 Driver of the Month for the Reefer/Van Division. Killey and his wife Kim live in Plano, Ill., where Killey’s hobbies include golfing and fishing. They have two children, Rebecca and Ryan. Stan Giddings has been selected as Decker’s October 2008 Driver of the Month for the Flatbed Division. Giddings, of Morrison, Ill., has been married to his wife Mary Ann for 38 years. They have two sons, Nathan and Todd, and three grandchildren.
