Fuel card and payment provider Comdata announced this week it has enabled instant pay functionality on its Comchek Mobile app, available via iOS and Android. The newly added feature allows brokers and fleets to instantly pay drivers for loads, fuel advances, repairs and other on-road needs, the company says.
Comchek Mobile, which digitizes Comdata’s paper Comchek and Express Code payments, was introduced in 2017 to streamline transactions related to driver payments and loads. Using a Comchek Mobile debit card tied to an iOS- or Android-enabled smartphone app, brokers and carriers can now instantly send or receive funds from other individuals or businesses within the Comdata network.
Once transferred, funds are used via debit card for point-of-sale purchases, ATM withdrawals, bank transfers and discounted fuel and hotels at Comdata Proprietary Network locations.
The functionality provides fleets using Comchek Mobile a way to fund drivers. For example, a carrier can receive a settlement payment electronically and distribute it to drivers through Comchek Mobile’s peer-to-peer transfer function. Funds are then available for immediate use.
