The Texas Department of Transportation has placed weight limits on three of the four direct connector ramps at the I-45 and I-20 interchanges south of Dallas.

Ramps with the weight restrictions include I-45 Northbound to I-20 Westbound, I-45 Northbound to I-20 Eastbound and I-20 Westbound to I-45 Southbound. The restrictions are expected to be in place for two weeks.

The weight limits in place include 20,000 pounds per axle and 34,000 pounds for tandem axles. There is no gross weight limit posted.

TxDOT is also restricting all permit loads, mobile cranes, concrete trucks, recycle trucks, container trucks, EV class of fire engines and well service trucks from the ramps.

The Dallas County Overweight Enforcement Unit will issue citations and fines to truckers who ignore the weight limits.
