AMETEK Vehicular Instruments Systems’ C-COM and NGI dashboard displays measure urea levels for selective catalytic reduction systems on new Tier IV diesel engines that meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 2010 or Euro 4 emissions standards for nitrogen oxide and non-methane hydrocarbons. The C-COM 2G displays the current DEF fluid level from the SAE J1939 (CAN) data bus in graphical chart format. C-COM offers a bi-color warning LED as well as diagnostic capabilities. A module compatible with its NGI dashboard instrumentation system 2-in-1 gauge is also available and combines both fuel level data in a standard needle gauge and DEF level in a 4-segment bar graph. The first segment changes from green to amber to red (and flashing red) to serve as a warning as the DEF level drops. An NGI needle gauge version of the DEF Level module also is an option as well as 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 multi-gauges. DEF level also can be displayed in the Lightbar Message Center display. Both C-COM and NGI versions feature low DEF level warning lights.
