National price of diesel drops

fueling2The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel dipped 1.1 cents last week, falling in most of the regions tracked by the Department of Energy.

 All regions recorded minor price declines except New England, where the average price increased less than 1 cent to $2.868.

The biggest drop was in the Central Atlantic, which fell 1.4 cents to $2.912. The cheapest diesel is in the Gulf Coast, where the average price dipped 1.3 cents to $2.733.

California remained the most expensive place to buy diesel at $2.964, which is 21 cents higher average price than a year ago.
