Toward a more perfect B.J. the Bear rig

Owner-operator Paul Sagehorn of Sparta, Wis., whose restoration of a Kenworth K100 used in the 1980s TV series emB.J. amp; the Bear/em I’ve been following a href=”″since he picked up the truck in Georgia/a close to two years ago, now is hard at work on restoration of an original B.J. trailer as well. Still under its original paint scheme, the van was sitting on the lot of an equipment dealer in Fontana, a href=””img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299441687996812946″ style=”FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px” alt=”” src=”” border=”0″ //aCalif., and had been previously owned by Universal Studios, used to move filming equipment. It’s picture here behind Sagehorn’s 1974 emMovin’ On/em /br /divdivdivdivAs Sagehorn tells the story: “I stumbled upon the trailer in Fontana, Calif., when I was loading across the street a couple of months ago. I was trying to find my pickup location and was on the phone with the girl trying to find a landmark or address to give her when I looked into a place that sells equipment and there it was. Still has the original paint scheme. It has Universal Studios stickers on it with their DOT number. They used it for a href=””img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299441265194544498″ style=”FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px” alt=”” src=”” border=”0″ //amoving equipment around for years after the show. The guy even had the title from Universal, as he never licensed it. After bringing it home I started checking it over, and I looked up and on the edge of the roof and noticed a hole. Right away I knew what it was. In one of the episodes there is a scene where a girl lands a hang glider on the truck while it is going down the road. There were eyebolts in the trailer to hook the glider to. . . . It seems this trailer was used somewhat like a stunt trailer as there was another one that shows up in a lot of the close-up shots.
