A truck driver was injured in an apparent road rage incident Wednesday, Dec. 13, while driving on I-30 in Rowlett, Texas, outside of Dallas when someone fired a gun at the driver’s side window of his truck.

A press release from the Rowlett Police Department states the trucker was likely injured by shattered glass from the window.

The 57-year-old trucker from San Antonio told police he was driving his truck westbound on I-30 and was changing lanes due to an accident ahead when he heard a pop and “felt like he had been punched in the side of the neck,” according to police. The driver then noticed blood running down his neck.

Rowlett PD says the driver then drove up to where officers were on the scene of an accident and reported the shooting. He was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for information on who may have fired at the driver. Anyone with information should call the Rowlett Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (972) 412-6220.
