Truckstop.com, CargoNet partner on new cargo theft alert system

Truckstop.com is set to announce Aug. 11 that it has entered into a partnership with cargo theft prevention firm CargoNet to provide alerts of theft instances and reported fraudulent activity to Truckstop.com users.

The partnership aims to curb instances of cargo theft by giving Truckstop.com members access to theft alerts derived from CargoNet’s well of of data. Through the partnership, CargoNet will provide weekly cargo theft incident summaries to Truckstop.com members. In addition, CargoNet will offer incentives to Truckstop.com members that also wish to be members of CargoNet.

“Their reports are detailed and comprehensive—providing valuable information on the increasing volume of cargo thefts, when and where they’re taking place, and how to significantly reduce the chance of becoming a victim,” says Truckstop.com’s Sonny Smith, director of Assurance Services. “Our affiliation with CargoNet will enable us to enhance the overall content provided in the section of our website dedicated to industry alerts. This collaborative sharing of information will promote a much higher degree of awareness and help achieve a mutual goal of educating and protecting the industry.”
