Volvo adding QR codes to all new trucks

Updated Jan 11, 2013

Volvo Qr E1357855644120Volvo announced this week in Nashville, Tenn., that starting in April it will be incorporating QR Codes into all new trucks in an effort to reduce downtime for owners and drivers and increase efficiency of technicians.

Technicians will be able to scan QR Codes with phones or tablets and download information rather than wasting technicians’ time inputting vehicle data. Once scanned, a truck’s service records will be available to the technician via the company’s MVASIST (Mack Volvo automated service information system, introduced in 2008).
