Blizzard shuts down interstates in Nebraska, South Dakota

Update – Thursday, April 11, 4 p.m. Central: All interstates are back open in Colorado, but closures remain on I-76 and I-80 in Nebraska, along with I-90 and I-29 in South Dakota.

A late-season winter storm that has dumped as much as 30 inches of snow in the central U.S. has caused the shutdown of a number of interstates in the region.

As of Thursday morning, I-76 in Colorado is closed in both directions in the state between Denver and the Nebraska state line. Updated Colorado highway information can be found here.

In Nebraska, I-76 is closed between the Colorado state line and the I-80 interchange. I-80 is closed in both directions in the state between the Wyoming state line and Cozad at milemarker 222. Updated Nebraska travel information can be found here.

Finally, in South Dakota, I-90 is closed between Rapid City and Sioux Falls, while I-29 is closed between Sioux Falls and the North Dakota state line. Updated South Dakota highway information can be found here.
