Prime honors 3-million-mile drivers

Prime Inc. truckers Herman Knight and Steve Rowan have won safety awards for driving 3 million miles safely. The honor requires a driving record free of preventable accidents or incidents, the Springfield, Mo.-based carrier said in a written statement.

Knight and Rowan were presented their awards at the 10-year celebration dinner for Prime employees. Both drivers received checks for $5,000 each, 3-million-mile leather jackets, decals for their trucks, lapel pins, jacket patches and plaques with their name and likeness on the wall of fame in Prime’s Millennium Building.

“We are honored to have drivers like Knight and Rowan who exhibit such high levels of professionalism and dedication to safety,” said Don Lacy Prime Inc.’s safety director. “We’re pleased to be their partners and to support their safe, professional work.’
