Truck parts search engine

Updated Nov 14, 2011

Time is tight when a truck is down. And if you’re using Google to search for a badly-needed part, then you know all too well how many dead end results you can get — everything from zip codes to phone numbers to the exact part you need: only it happens to be in Southern Japan at the moment.

PartsRiver aims to revolutionize the truck parts search experience with the introduction of its new Part Search online search engine. The goal, here, says Sherif Danish, chief executive officer for PartsRiver, is to create a consumer style, Google Map based search engine that will allow truck fleets, dealers and repair shops to quickly track down parts in a local area, significantly cutting down on phone time while giving fleet managers and technicians multiple options in terms of price and proximity.

PartsRiver’s database uses OEM and VRMS codes to expedite the search process of more than 8 million truck parts contained in a database the company has spent 10 years building. A free account allows users to enter their addresses to narrow a search down to the very closest parts dealers. An enhanced version, available for $99 per month per user offers full access to alternate parts in the area as well as VMRS classification codes to assist in warranty claims.
