Diesel drops again

Fuelstop OdFor the fourth straight week, the U.S. average diesel price fell, dropping 6.6 cents to $3.828, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration.

Over the last four weeks, the national price has dropped 18.2 cents. The latest price is 58 cents higher than a year earlier.

Prices declined across the nation, led by 8.3 cents to $3.765 in the Midwest. The Rocky Mountain region fell 7.8 cents to $3.913. With the recent price declines, only California at $4.047 remains above $4 a gallon.

The record diesel price was $4.764 in July 2008.
