U.S. diesel price rises

While the U.S. average diesel price rose slightly, several regions had small decreases according to the latest figures from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. The national average price increased 0.2-cent to $3.848 through Jan. 30.

The latest price is 41.2 cents higher than a year earlier.

Prices on the East Coast rose 0.7-cent to $3.945, led by 1.1 cents to $4.088 in New England and 1 cent to $4.04 in the Central Atlantic area. The Gulf Coast had a 0.2-cent increase to $3.776.

The West Coast without California declined 0.8-cent to $3.93, while California’s average price dipped 0.1-cent to $4.12.

The record diesel price was $4.764 in July 2008.
