Laydon Composites trailer fairing

Laydon Composites unveiled its Hybrid248 at the TMC Spring Meeting in Tampa, Fla.

The new fairing can be configured and eliminate problems with low ground clearances. The new skirt mounts 8 inches inboard and is 32 inches high. The changes in configuration required recertification with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board. Both agencies have approved the fairing as meeting their minimum 5 percent fuel economy increase requirement.

Laydon also made the Hybrid248 more durable. A new composite flexible spring produced from 18 layers of fiber allows for a 180-degree bend and has been durability tested to over 20,000 duty cycles.
