Truck information service RigDig’s Truck History Reports was one of six finalists for the top technical achievement of 2011 awarded by the Truck Writers of North America.
The award was presented for the Volvo XE13 powertrain package at the Technology & Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition this week.
RigDig partners with the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System to integrate truck data from salvage yards, recyclers, insurance carriers and state titling agencies. RigDig’s Truck History Reports exceed that federal database.
RigDig taps additional sources, such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, along with the RigDig Business Intelligence, which includes vehicle specifications and the Equipment Data Associates, offering Uniform Commercial Code related liens and terminations.
The Equipment Data Associates division of Randall-Reilly Business Media & Information, publisher of Overdrive, operates the website at www.rigdig.com.
The other finalists were the Bendix EverSure spring brake, the Fontaine/Volvo integrated fifth wheel, Goodyear’s G392 SSD/SST DuraSeal wide-base tires and Spectra’s Hub Alert.
To be eligible for the Technical Achievement Award, a product or service has to clearly exhibit technical innovation, have a wide applicability in the trucking industry, offer significant benefits and be widely available. While complete vehicles are not eligible, components and systems are.
