Bendix stability systems now standard on Peterbilt models

The Bendix Electronic Stability Program full-stability system with automatic traction control is now standard on the majority of Peterbilt’s Class 8 trucks and tractors, including the new 579, Bendix has announced. Bendix Wingman Advanced, a collision mitigation technology is also now available as an option on Models 579, 587, 386, 384, 382, 389, 367 and 365.

The system includes automatic traction control and enhances vehicle stability by reducing engine throttle and applying vehicle braking. In contrast to roll-only systems, Bendix ESP addresses both roll and directional stability to recognize conditions such as snow, ice-covered, and slippery surfaces as well as dry.
