SafeConnect to power reefer units at new GSF center

Golden State Foods opened last month a distribution center that will serve about 450 McDonald’s in the Chicago area. In an initiative to make the facility more energy efficient, the facility equipped the center with SafeConnect electric standby connection systems to power the fleet’s refrigeration units.

SafeConnect is a plug-in docking stations that is compatible with straight trucks and trailers. It also has a failsafe self-disconnect system that prevents drive-offs from causing contact with high-voltage electricity.
