Roadmaster earlier this year launched its newest long-haul drive tire. The tire line, manufactured by Cooper Tire, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.Cooper Tire & Rubber Company launched its Roadmaster line of truck tires 10 years ago with four tire lines and has grown to offer long haul, regional, mixed service, pickup and bus tires.
Just three years after launching, Roadmaster introduced its first SmartWay-verified tire in 2010 – its RM180 long-haul steer tire. Since then, the company has added five more SmartWay-verified tires to its lineup, which offer lower fuel consumption and low rolling resistance.
Gary Schroeder, director of Cooper’s truck and bus tire business, says owner-operators have been a driving force behind the success of the tire line.
“Roadmaster has been supported by dealers who embraced the brand from its launch and by owner-operators who have asked for it by name,” he says. “These groups have been, and always will be, an important part of our business.”
