Evotrux’ new freight-bid platform

The new Evotrux freight platform, based in Canada, has launched its online-bid system in which carriers bid on loads posted by shippers and brokers. Evotrux head Daniel Santos he built the connection platform from his background as a broker, but owner-operators should know Evotrux is not a broker itself. Rather, shippers/brokers and carriers can use it in exchange for a subscription that ranges from a monthly-paid $95 to $720 annually.

Santos believes Evotrux is “making the [shipper-carrier] connection simpler,” he says, simply put. “We’re hoping to get [freight through] Canada and the U.S. on the whole. The bulk of the carriers involved at this point are Canadian, but it’s certainly open to everyone. We’d like to get some more American shippers up there.”

The platform functions in way similar to that of U.S.-based uShip, in some ways. Shippers and brokers post loads, and carriers bid on them in a system in which all users can see each others’ bids. Santos insists that it’s not built “just to drive the price down for shippers” — rather, the site offers tools with which carriers can distinguish themselves to make their service more attractive. Carrier users’ unique profiles on the system come with a reviews function and a star rating. “The system isn’t designed to create bidding wars – it’s a bid system, but it’s meant for you to be able capture” desirable rates on both sides of the freight equation.

After parties come to an agreement in Evotrux, the remainder of the load’s paperwork is handled outside the system.

The company is offering a one-month free trial for up to 25 users for those who sign up during December.
