Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations has announced a recall of more than 2,700 commercial truck tires due to a potential defect, according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The sidewall steel body cords of the affected tires may be exposed, which can cause unexpected rapid air loss during use. Affected tires include:

  • Bridgestone M854 425/65R22.5 with DOT date codes 2418 and 2518
  • Bridgestone M860A 425/65R22.5 with DOT date code 2518
  • Bridgestone M864 425/65R22.5 with DOT date codes 2318 and 2418
  • Firestone FS818 425/65R22.5 with DOT date codes 2318 and 2418

Bridgestone will notify owners and replace the tires with a comparable replacement for free. Owners can contact Bridgestone customer service at 1-800-847-3272. NHTSA’s recall number is 18VT-011.
