ATRI seeks driver input on top issues facing trucking industry

Updated Jul 30, 2019

The American Transportation Research Institute is once again asking truck drivers and fleets to rank the top issues of concern in the industry for the group’s 2019 Top Industry Issues Survey.

Now in its 15th year, ATRI’s annual analysis ranks the issues overall while also providing details on where critical topics are ranked differently by carriers and drivers.

“This survey gives everyone in trucking, from drivers to executives, a chance to weigh in on the industry’s most pressing issues and strategies for addressing each,” said ATA Chairman Barry Pottle, president of Pottle Transportation. â€śBy participating you are helping our industry speak with a collective voice on what is most important to us.”

The results of the 2019 survey will be released at the ATA Management Conference and Exhibition, which will be held Oct. 5-9 in San Diego, California.

For the last two years, the survey found the top issue facing the industry to be fleets’ struggles in hiring truck drivers. Hours of service ranked second in last year’s survey.

Drivers and fleets can complete the survey here through Sept. 20.
