I-15 SB lane closures next week in Nevada
Upcoming — potentially heavier traffic for through trucks in Las Vegas. The Nevada Department of Transportation will close the I-15 southbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane between Spring Mountain Road and Flamingo Avenue from 10 p.m., October 1, until 5 a.m., October 4. An additional inside southbound travel lane will also be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly. The temporary closures are needed for bridge joint repairs as part of routine maintenance.
Air line PM tips
Inspection and replacement of air lines in prep for the winter season was the subject of this month’s Tech Tips series from the Phillips company, accessible via this link.
Although not always necessary, the company notes, it’s good practice to replace air lines, and air line accessories, annually to ensure proper working order. However, during routine PM, or during pre-trip inspection, if any of the following are noted, skip your regular interval and replace:
- Chafing or damaged jacketing
- Rusted springs and/or fittings
- Nylon cables that are stretched out and no longer recoil
- Kinked nylon cables
