News roundup, Oct. 31: Weekend closure set for I-10 near Phoenix, TA-Petro adding nearly 100 IHOP restaurants

Updated Nov 1, 2019

Trucking news and briefs for Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019:

I-10 Westbound near Phoenix closing this weekend
Arizona Department of Transportation crews will close I-10 Westbound between 35th and 67th avenues west of downtown Phoenix this weekend to allow for paving. The closure will be in effect from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, through 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4.

Westbound I-10 travelers going beyond Phoenix are encouraged taking I-8 West at Casa Grande and State Route 85 North from Gila Bend to reenter I-10 in Buckeye.

Both ramps from I-17 to westbound I-10 will be closed, so drivers on I-17 Southbound planning to drive west of Phoenix should take Loop 101 or Loop 303 to connect with I-10.

Nearly 100 IHOP restaurants to open in TA-Petro locations in coming years
TravelCenters of America and IHOP are partnering to open up 94 IHOP restaurants in TA and Petro locations across the U.S. in the next five years. There are currently four of the restaurants already in TA’s network, including one that opened this week in Jackson, Georgia.

Guests at IHOP restaurants in TA-Petro travel centers will be able to order from the brand’s full menu, including pancakes, omelettes, burgers, chicken and more.
