Diesel prices stayed above the $2 threshold another week after dropping 2.3 cents last week to $2.008 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly report.
The drop in prices marks the 13th consecutive week of falling diesel prices.
The most significant decrease came in the Rocky Mountain region, where prices dropped 5.5 cents, followed by West Coast less California, where prices dropped 4.4 cents.
The U.S.’ highest diesel prices can be found in California at $2.369 per gallon, followed by the Central Atlantic region at $2.224 per gallon.
The cheapest fuel can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $1.896 per gallon, followed by the Rocky Mountain region at $1.914 per gallon.
Prices in other regions are as follows:
- New England – $2.201
- Lower Atlantic – $1.959
- Midwest – $1.929
- West Coast less California – $2.073
ProMiles’ numbers have the average price of a gallon of on-highway diesel at $1.938 per gallon nationwide.
According to ProMiles’ Fuel Surcharge Index, the most expensive diesel can be found in California at $2.312 per gallon, and the cheapest can be found in the Rocky Mountain region at $1.889 per gallon.
