Truck racing finale in Europe: Photos and video from the show’s first day

The FIA European truck racing series finale — a two-day event — began Oct. 11 and continues through Oct. 12 in Le Mans, France. The season’s championship is on the line, and this weekend’s races will determine the season’s winners, based on points gained in all of the year’s races.

I’m covering the race and the corresponding show (including the show truck competition) from the Le Mans Speedway today and Sunday.

The show is very close to what’s coming to the U.S. next year, when the ChampTruck World Series will produce 10 multi-day shows across the U.S. anchored by truck races. They’ll also include carnival-like happenings, show trucks, live entertainment and more.

I’ll be live tweeting photos and happenings from my @trucknewsjj feed throughout the show, but I’ve posted here some photos and videos of show trucks and race action from the first day, which wrapped up a short bit ago.
