The images above show scenes from last year’s overcast (but no less bright for it with all the chrome) Pride & Polish show out in Crossville, Tenn., at Fitzgerald Glider Kits. No doubt the rigs have already started rolling in today for the show, but I’m not there yet. Rather, I’m busy emptying out the memory cards and other storage in the cameras, charging everything up and otherwise getting ready for the day tomorrow.

Owner-operator Austin Ashley bagged Best of Show in the Limited Mileage Bobtail category of the event at Fitzgerald Glider Kits last year. Click through the image for more photos and a video.
Iowa-based independent hog hauler Ron Brubaker was showing this “One of a Kind” 1993 Peterbilt, bagging Best of Show in its class last year. The owner-operator spec’d as a short hood in October 1992 and has owned ever since. He’s thought of dubbing it “never finished,” though, given mods continue to this day. Brubaker’s son, Dan, owns and operates this 2014 Peterbilt 389 Detroit-powered glider from Fitzgerald Glider Kits. Showing in Working combo last year, the rig last year bagged a Best of Show as well. He showed with a well-outfitted tri-axle livestock trailer; Dan Brubaker and company do most all of their custom work all on their own. Click through the image for a video and more photos.
Kingston, Tenn.-based Ted Bowers’ 2005 379 with 2009 Reitnouer trailer outfitted with Merlot’s Vango kit has been a perennial contender. We talked with Bowers for a vid and more photos you can find by clicking through the image.
