Gooch Trucking’s ‘Old Blue’

Gooch

Gooch Trucking’s “Old Blue” is a 1996 Peterbilt 379 that originally had a 500 horsepower Caterpillar C15, an Eaton Fuller 18-speed transmission and 3:55 rears. After years on the road, owner Glendon Gooch upgraded the peak horsepower to the estimated 1000-plus range with 4,000 pounds of torque with high-performance heads, turbo and injectors. The truck sits on a 300-inch wheelbase. Inside the rig, there are hardwood floors, chrome accents on the dash and flame embroidered leather. Gooch Trucking runs mostly in the southeast hauling mostly hazmat and also offering flatbeds, step decks, vans, lowboys and powder tankers.
