The 6th Annual Gear Jammer Magazine Truck Show, currently underway at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield, Massachusetts, got off to a strong start as doors opened for spectators at noon on Friday. At first glance, the show looks to have attracted serious talent an order of magnitude greater than the last two years' outings in Keene, New Hampshire.
Overdrive stopped by the show for a quick peek at what's to come, dodging raindrops and lightning bolts during a significant electrical storm. Fret not: aside from the passing thunder on Friday, weather looks good for the rest of the weekend, so still stop by if you're in the area.
Manuel's Trucking, known for running show-quality Petes hard, showed up again this year, this time with perhaps the only loaded flatbed as of Friday afternoon.
This lineup is just a small sample of the growing crowd of rigs hoping to take home the gold this weekend. Proceeds from the event benefit the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for children with autism. Gear Jammer features a light show tonight and truck pulls on Saturday at 6 pm right after the judging concludes.
