Organizers of the Mid-America Trucking Show this week announced that the Big Rig Build-Off is returning for the third consecutive year in 2026, scheduled for March 26-28 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Big Rig Build-Off is one of the most anticipated events of MATS, bringing together some of the industry’s most talented and innovative custom truck builders in a head-to-head competition of creativity, craftsmanship, and skill. Each builder will unveil a brand-new custom build, competing for a $20,000 grand prize and bragging rights.

“The Big Rig Build-Off is one of the most exciting events at MATS because it represents the very best of trucking innovation and artistry,” said Toby Young, MATS President. “We’re thrilled to welcome back this fan-favorite competition and showcase the passion and dedication of these outstanding builders.”

Following the success of his award-winning “Afternoon Delight” at MATS, Stegall brings his signature craftsmanship and show-winning style to the 2026 Big Rig Build-Off.
  • Randy Menkel, Never Satisfied Builds/J&L Contracting LLC – Led by Project Manager Randy Menkel, Never Satisfied Builds, the custom division of J&L Contracting, transforms elite heavy-haul craftsmanship into show-stopping custom trucks. These builders will showcase their latest creations in the PKY Truck Beauty Championship Lot, located in front of the West Wing of the expo center. MATS attendees can view the builds throughout the show and meet the builders.
