Mike Manuel's 1984I shared some of small fleet owner-operator Mike Manuel’s thoughts on the benefits of customizing recently in this post, but I didn’t give his “Custombilt” combo custom unit a full accounting. I don’t know if I could ever truly give it what it deserves, but the following vid should suffice for the basics, with plenty of views up and down the 1984 Peterbilt 359/2003 Benson flatbed’s length. He built it to match the color scheme of his son’s 2008 105th-anniversary Harley and, he says, plans some new additions prior to an appearance in August at big show of the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.   His son now handles much of the day-to-day operation of the fleet, and happens to have been born the same year as the truck — taking it out of regular operation and giving it the custom treatment seemed fitting appreciation.

Enjoy the looks, and keep it safe out there this weekend.
