WCBC reports a driver ran into the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division weigh and inspection facility on I-68 in Finzel, Md., at about 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, and told the inspectors there was a man down in the parking lot.
Master Trooper Keith Stakem, Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspectors Keith Comer and Clint Snyder, and Cadet Lawrence Cosgrove found in the parking lot a 57-year-old Missouri man who was not breathing and had no detectable pulse, according to the report.
Stakem and Comer used the inspection site’s automated external defibrillator and CPR, the report states, and the driver resumed breathing on his own. He was then transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland.
According to WCBC, troopers said the driver seemed fine during the standard North American Standard Commercial Vehicle Level III, which he passed with no violations.
